Overview

  •    Installation Manual (0311428): this manual, providing an introduction to the 428XL system, installation information, a few instructions for the operator to get started, and reference information that will help you select a 428XL configuration tailored to your needs.
  •      User’s Manual Volume 1 (0311430): describes the parameters displayed on the system’s Graphic User Interface and how to use each window.
  •       User’s Manual Volume 2 (0311431): contains information on logged data and on interfaces (description of Input/Output formats, including the SEGD format).
  •       User’s Manual Volume 3 (0311432): contains reference information (filter charts, theory of tests, technical data, release notes, specifications).
  •    Technical Manual (0311429): contains maintenance and repair information, including operating instructions for using the system’s testers.
     This manual assumes you are familiar with window-driven systems and you know how to work with windows, including how to use a mouse and standard menus and commands.
      
With a PC computer equipped with a PDF file reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader) you can view this manual direct from the 428XL CDROM’s DOC directory.




The 428XL system

          Sercel’s 428XL seismic acquisition system is specifically designed to address the growing demands of the geophysical industry for even larger channel counts, high performance digital receivers, and greater layout flexibility, while improving conventional operations.     The 428XL builds on the 400 Series’ proven technology, reliability and efficiency with  hardware and software designed to enable the largest channel count operations in the industry. With a capacity of 100,000 channels – backed by a telemetry structure that boosts by 500 percent the number of channels a wire transverse cable can address in real-time at 2 ms – the 428XL gives you outstanding accuracy, speed and ease of use for even the largest surveys.
